Mitsubishi Motors recently showcased the XForce in Batam, highlighting its specifications and features during the Mitsubishi Motors Auto Show (MMSA) at Grand Mall Batam from October 26th to 29th, 2023. Batam, along with Malang, was the last city to host the XForce and announce its price. The event completed the tour of 18 cities in 31 events. Batam was chosen as the destination for the Mitsubishi XForce due to its high economic growth. “Batam is a potential market for Mitsubishi Motors in Indonesia,” said Budi Dermawan, Group Head of Regional Sales & Marketing Division at PT MMKSI, on October 26th, 2023. “In this region, we are confident that the Mitsubishi XForce will be well received by the people of Batam,” he added. This statement is not without reason. Thomas, the Business Manager of PT DIPO Internasional Pahala Otomotif Batam, claimed to have received around 30 vehicle booking letters (SPK) for the XForce. “We have received 20 units of SPK in the past 2 months, and maybe around 30 units by today,” he said. According to him, this is a positive development for the dealer because even though the people of Batam have not seen the XForce in person and do not know its price, they are willing to order it. “We are very excited because even though they have only seen news and videos about the XForce, people here are already willing to place orders,” Thomas continued. The Mitsubishi XForce is the cheapest in Indonesia. According to Thomas, the dealer targets to sell 100 units by the end of 2023. Currently, Mitsubishi’s sales in the Riau Islands are still dominated by the Xpander and Xpander Cross, which together contribute more than 60% of sales in Batam. After the Xpander models, the second best-selling Mitsubishi vehicle in Batam is the Pajero Sport, which is closely related to the SUV needs of Batam residents. Therefore, Budi believes that the XForce, as a compact SUV, can be an additional choice for Batam residents. The Mitsubishi XForce is a 5-passenger capacity compact SUV that MMKSI presents as an attractive new option. According to Mitsubishi Motors, the XForce is built to meet the needs and road conditions in Southeast Asia. “The presence of the XForce is expected to increase sales contributions (in Batam),” said Budi. The XForce boasts a stylish and robust design and is marketed by Mitsubishi Motors as a compact SUV that is safe and comfortable in all driving and maneuvering situations. Mitsubishi claims that the XForce has several advantages that fall into three categories: Futuristic, Prestigious, and Comfort. Some of the Futuristic features of the XForce include the silky and solid concept, the New Generation Dynamic Shield T-Shape Headlight, Rear Combination Lights, and 18-inch wheels. The Prestigious features include a horizontal axis instrument panel with mélange and mocha interior, a floating console, and ambient lighting. The Comfort features include various driving modes (Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud), a top-class roominess with comfortable seating and ample cargo space, dual-zone auto climate control, a floor console box with armrest and cooling function, and a well-tuned suspension for a comfortable ride. The XForce is equipped with a 1,499 cc DOHC 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 103.5 Hp and peak torque of 141 Nm. It has a ground clearance of 222 mm, making it the highest in its class. The XForce is available in two variants: Ultimate CVT priced at Rp385 million and Exceed CVT priced at Rp355 million in Batam. The XForce will be delivered to customers nationwide starting in November. For orders placed after that, MMKSI promises to deliver them in December.
